# Left at the Scarecrow > A corn maze passport maker. The page grows a seeded corn maze with exactly one way through and puts checkpoint posts at the forks on that way. Paste a few facts - one per line - and one metered run writes a question for each post: the right answer, taken from a fact line, sits on the turn that leads on; the two wrong answers sit on turns that end in dead ends. Walk it on screen, then print the passport and the answer key. URL: https://left-at-the-scarecrow.skillsafe.ai/ API tutorial: https://left-at-the-scarecrow.skillsafe.ai/api.html ## Free, in the browser - The maze: a grid of corn rows (small 9 by 9, medium 13 by 13, large 17 by 17) grown from a seed word, with no loops, so there is exactly one way from the gate at the bottom to the exit at the top. The same seed word, size and post count always give the same maze. - The posts: three to ten checkpoints (at most eight on the small field) spread evenly over the forks on the way through. At each post the page works out the right turn - left, straight or right, as the walker faces - and every other turn leads into a dead end. - Walk it: arrow buttons or arrow keys move a walker that runs along a row until it reaches a fork, a post, a dead end or the exit; at a post, picking an answer takes that turn. - A blank passport: an entrance card, one card per post showing its turns, an exit card and an answer key - write your own questions by hand if you like. - Exports: Markdown, JSON (including the maze itself), the questions as CSV, the maze as SVG; two print sheets - passports for the walkers (no map, no key) and the field plan with the way through plus the answer key for the organiser; saved passports in the browser, or in your account when signed in. ## Metered (gpt-terra), one task: write the passport - Every fact line is sorted: usable (one checkable fact with one right answer) or left out with a plain reason (an opinion, an instruction, a greeting, a question, too vague, a repeat, private details, unkind). - The verdict, in a fixed order: no usable facts (no questions; every post prints blank), short of facts (one question per usable fact; the rest print blank), or ready to print (one question per post from the first usable facts; the rest are kept as spares). - Each question uses only its own fact line; the right answer keeps the line's words; two wrong answers that are plainly false. Lengths follow the ages (5-7, 8-11, 12+). A maze name, an entrance sign and an exit sign built only from the theme and the facts. - The model never sees the maze: the page pins each right answer to its post's right turn, so a new maze reuses the same questions without another run. - The page re-checks every reply: the verdict against the reply's own count, every line used, kept spare or left out exactly once, two different wrong answers per post, a right answer that shares a word with its fact line, no talk of turns, and no internal field names in the wording. ## Limits and honesty - Questions use only the facts you typed; the run never adds facts of its own or corrects yours. Check them before you print. - For a real field, cut or mow the rows to the printed plan and put a numbered sign at each post. The app does not plan field safety, paths for wheelchairs or pushchairs, or exits for emergencies - plan those yourself. - Nothing is sent anywhere until you press "Write the passport". - Trend it answers: corn maze season.
